The Backstory
We were both born and raised in Mississippi. While Glenn was attending school at Ole Miss University, opportunity knocked for us to transfer to West Virginia University where he had family nearby.
During the years of Glenn attending school at WVU, we both grew to appreciate the natural beauty of this state, the friendly people, and the many wonderful things it has to offer. Finding a new love for the outdoors, we embarked on our first "homesteading adventure." We had a decent sized garden, a few chickens, and started learning the skills we had no idea would become so vital later on in life. A few years after the "homestead adventure," we got caught up in life, raising our children, and our homesteading endeavors ultimately took a back seat in our list of priorities.
With school days behind us and Glenn's career established, we purchased the property we still call home. We became increasingly exhausted from trying to find good, healthy food we could trust, and we realized just how important it truly was to be more self reliant from the food grid. We began to make plans to return back to the idea of homesteading, and in 2021 as we were in the process, I pulled out the camera to document and share our journey on YouTube.

Tara
I film, edit, and run
the YouTube channel. I'm your quintessential crazy chicken lady. I
adore roosters, running/biking, traveling, the smell of diesel, and playing cello. I love animals! I adore cooking from scratch. I repeat every quote and saying wrong, and I hate math. I'm ridiculously scared of stink bugs! I'm a highly self-motivated person! I love cameras, editing, making videos, and painting. I always have a camera in my hand!
Glenn
Glenn is the homestead's handyman - from construction to electrical to plumbing gas pipes - if he doesn't already know how to do it, he'll research it until he figures it out. He is a jack-of-all trades and always looking for ways to DIY projects. Glenn makes a mean apple cider, loves to travel and is a nomad at heart. In winter, he won't miss a day telling you how much he hates mud!
